Old Transformers
These old transformers were used for outdoor lighting. They contain PCBs.
Unfortunately, dumping can occur almost anywhere. The photographs in this gallery include examples of large scale surface dumping. Such dumps can contain drums with unknown and potentially dangerous substances. Farms and other agricultural areas tend to collect abandoned vehicles and may contain herbicides or pesticides. For example, orchards often used DDT and fungicides containing arsenic or mercury. Old transformers contain PCBs and may be located almost anywhere.
